Putting Clothes Away
I’m not sure who’s teasing whom in this one. And I’d count the puns if there wasn’t work to do. Listen here.
All the Other Voices podcasts so far are here, and the sonnets so far from the second section, “Sonneteer,” are here.

First and Last Time
Tonight’s sonnet podcast from Other Voices is tough, and not just because it’s Petrarchan. Its barely post-coital conversation presents a very disturbing scene. Listen here.

A tough recipe at short notice … and our man is surprised more than once. Listen here.

Gorilla Glue
I’m back after a couple of days for sluggishness. Today’s sonnet from Other Voices has a young man bragging about finally getting the last word in. Listen here.

The Fall
I’ve podcast “The Fall,” another sonnet from Sonneteer, the second section of Other Voices, and on the left I’ve added a link under Me & Mine to the podcast home page.
I find I’m seldom doing more than one take on the poems themselves, but I rewrite their brief introductions a dozen times and record each version 3 or 4 times. Is it worth the time and trouble? Does it add anything to the reading of the poem? If it does, is that a problem? Shouldn’t they have to stand on their own?
Of course, on the page (whether paper or electronic) they don’t stand on their own: they’re surrounded by other poems in a chosen order, and the reader can go back and forth in the text of each or go to another book or web page, or ask someone else a question about the poem.
What do you think?

Too Late Now
I’ve podcast the 3rd sonnet, “Too Late Now,” from the second section of Other Voices.
I’ve moved to php for tags and categories on the podacsts. The new links are, for the mss as a whole, (Other Voices) and, for each for the first 2 sections, (Arse Poetica and Sonneteer). I’ll add another for the last section when we get to it, and I’ll probably add the links to “Me & Mine” over on the left.

What’s the complement of “the truth. the whole truth, and nothing but the truth”? Listen here.

Petulant Muse
The second section of Other Voices is called “Sonneteer” and, not surprisingly, consists entirely of sonnets. The first one, podcast today, is “Petulant Muse.” Before thinking better of if, she almost gets her sister Calliope involved. Listen here.
BTW, I’ve added 3 categories on the podacsts: 1 for the mss as a whole (Other Voices) and 1 each for the first 2 sections (Arse Poetica and Sonneteer). I’ll add another for the last section when we get to it.
