I’m a Lucky Man
In all kinds of ways … but luckiest of all in that I get to live, work, and play music with Krys Baker.
For example: I’ve written poetry and played music for 30+ years, and in all that time I’ve written 3 songs, only 1 of which I remember, but in the little more than two years I’ve been with Krys, she’s set 8 of my poems (including one I’d forgotten before finishing it) and co-wrote a ninth with me. That’s while writing about a hundred of her own, running a band, working in two musicals, and teaching both private pupils and General Music at an elementary school. She is a force of nature.
And I really love what she’s done with the poems. You can find them and many, many of her own songs, with scratch tracks for most, at her website. Here are links to those of mine she remade, along with my original texts if they’re on the web:
- Actaeon Still (original text)
- Eclipse (original text)
- Jack Dancng (original text)
- Just Turn Out the Lights
- On the Extinction of Dragons (original text)
- The Rock Sings of Time (original text)
- She’s Ordinary
- Sleepless After Ovid
- Stella’s Song (original text)

Gah! Someday I’ll have more bandwidth. (Right now I’m in the second day of downloading the iPod touch’s update: predicted fourteen hours. Nothing to spare for frivolous sound files!)
Good words.
Thanks!
