Thanks for the tip Mike. The general response to the article has been typical – a sort of dismissive snarkiness – illustrating the very reasons poetry has failed to inspire the general public. The figures are real, but poets snootily dismisses Newsweek. Right. Like that changes the facts. The world of poetry is awash with mediocrity.
